Quick Takeaway

The central question in this conversation is whether care addresses a person’s underlying problems or focuses primarily on a diagnostic label and its associated symptoms. Dr. Brad Montagne advocates an individualized approach, while Dr. Haley emphasizes both supporting health and identifying factors that may be contributing to a problem.

The speakers also share personal experiences and clinical opinions about food, gut health, testing, and fasting. Their broader claims about medicine, vaccines, and disease reflect their perspectives in the interview and should not be treated as individualized medical recommendations.

Diagnosis, Symptoms, and Individualized Care

Dr. Haley asks how important it is to obtain the right diagnosis. Dr. Montagne responds with his critique of diagnostic labels and standardized treatment protocols, arguing that they can distract from investigating what is happening in an individual person. The conversation also explores how a natural therapy can become a symptom-focused treatment when it is used as a generic prescription.

Dr. Haley illustrates that distinction through Dr. Sid Williams’s book When is a potato a pill? His point is that recommending a food solely to treat a symptom can follow the same pattern as prescribing another intervention, rather than considering the person’s overall health.

Medical History, Research, and Financial Incentives

The speakers discuss germ theory, the Flexner report, changes in medical education, and their concerns about how funding and institutional priorities influence healthcare. They also question how research findings and statistics are selected and presented, including in discussions of fluoride and vaccination.

Dr. Montagne presents a strongly critical interpretation of these institutions. Dr. Haley offers a different emphasis during part of the discussion, suggesting that incentives and influence may shape people’s decisions even when those people believe they are doing good. These historical interpretations, statistics, and allegations are presented as the speakers’ claims rather than independently verified conclusions.

Food Intolerance, Gut Health, and Finding Contributing Factors

Dr. Montagne describes his clinical views on food intolerance, gut function, and the factors he believes contribute to chronic health problems. Dr. Haley connects this discussion to the importance of removing potential causes while also making supportive changes, using food choices, posture, seating, and footwear as examples.

The conversation compares diet logs, elimination approaches, laboratory testing, skin testing, and muscle testing. Dr. Haley describes tracking meals alongside changes in digestion, sleep, energy, and clarity of thinking. Dr. Montagne explains his preference for muscle testing and shares his opinions about the limitations of other methods; his accuracy claims and broader disease explanations are his clinical assertions in the interview.

Fasting, Faith, and Personal Experience

Dr. Montagne recounts extended fasts and explains that his primary motivation has been connected to prayer and ministry. He also describes difficult experiences during fasting and discusses his views on hydration, nutrition, and returning to eating afterward.

The discussion moves into the speakers’ Christian beliefs about prayer, baptism, spiritual authority, and serving others. Dr. Montagne’s fasting experiences are personal accounts rather than a fasting program for listeners to follow.

A Future Conversation with Your Questions

We will be featuring health radicals on the show to bring new ideas to the table, as well as doubling down on key fundamentals to support you living your best life. Your host is no other than the founder of Haley Nutrition Dr. Michael Haley.

This is a Dr. Haley show podcast. Today’s guest is Doctor Brad Montag. Tanya Montana Montagne. Montagne. How come I am? I’m the only one that’s having a man. You know, one. Why don’t you let me say it Bobby, don’t edit this out. This is real life. And we’re going to have a really good conversation with Doctor Brad. You know, all the good doctors go by their first name anyway.

It’s Doctor Brad, and he’s a functional medicine doctor and also author of Exposing Lyme and Chronic Illness. And I understand that you speak Spanish. Where are you from?

I’m actually out from the West coast. I was born in the most insane. Well, probably the second most insane state in the nation. California. Lord moved us to the upper Midwest. I spent half my life there, and he moved us out to the East coast I’m in the western part of North Carolina.

Okay. And I like how you say you know the Lord was involved in this, and we’re not going to be shy about that. I think the Lord’s going to be a part of this conversation today. We have a lot of good things to talk about. And some of the questions I’m going to ask you, because if I answer them, I don’t want them to take my license away. And I’m kidding, because I will. And if they ever take my license away, it’d probably be a good thing, because then I can really say whatever I want.

It’s a badge of honor, actually. And for the people who really understand, if you ever look at movies like Under Our Skin, there is a conspiracy by their overlords. There’s a lot bigger than most people think. They keep everything under wraps to keep everybody sick so everybody can profit from the sick industry.

Yeah, and the sick industry is interesting too, because I know, like a lot of the conditions that you help people with. And I’m not going to say conditions you treat. Because there’s a difference between helping someone with a condition and treating a condition.

Big difference.

But things like Lyme and mold and leaky gut and IBS and food intolerances and autoimmune problems and things that sometimes would be called chemical imbalances, like ADHD or, you know, any of the depression or autism. And when I look at a lot of these conditions, I kind of I tend to group them together because they’re really very similar in what it would take to get well from. So with that, let me set up the first zinger of a question. Okay. How important is getting the right diagnosis?

Okay. let’s talk about what a diagnosis is. Because most people are not aware a diagnosis is just simply an insurance code for a doctor to bill the insurance, has no relative bearing on what the causation is or what’s going on. It’s a collection of symptoms and it just leads you into this trap where you cannot find out what the root causes are and how to heal.

So when we look at diagnosis, you got to go back in history. Louis Pasteur, he is the father of the germ theory. He spent his entire life studying germs. And he believed that germ caused disease a germ B disease B and we figured out what the germ was and how to kill the germ. Everything would be fine. By the end of his life, you realize he’d wasted his life. His contemporary, Claude Bernard was teaching in the medical school. They’re both from France. What about physical vitalism, which is the constitution of the body? How healthy it is, which allows disease to either grow or not grow. And by the time Louis Pasteur died, he. He said the germ is nothing. The soil is everything.

he basically said his work was worthless. And the whole thing is the Constitution, of the body, all the lab tests that are done for these diagnoses were set up by Rockefeller after he made huge investments into Merck and Pfizer to change the course of medicine so that they could justify the prescription of pharmaceuticals. That’s what lab tests lead to, is prescriptions of something that doesn’t address the real problem. So there’s an old mean bomb for your zinger of a question. And I’m not sure if you were ready for that answer, but it looks like you know what I am.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean, we can dig a little bit deeper there because something set this pattern of diagnosing and treating. And you already kind of mentioned it back probably. When was that like the 1940s or actually earlier than that.

they did their investment around 1900, 1905. They got all the Faulkner brothers and they sent them out to go investigate all the medical schools in North America. So USA and Canada, there are 177 schools at that time. It took them five years to do that. They came back with this scathing report that half the schools should be closed. They should all standardize their education over science with their research bases, which Rockefeller Primary Carnegie was part of that Rockefeller was main thing behind that. They set up that basis of study in Rockefeller University and the University of Chicago.

They set all that up as soon as a Flexner report came out, the medical school started closing. They hired a guy, they set up John Hopkins University by I think the last name was Welsh. There was a director of that with of curriculum that they were establishing in a Rockefeller University, University of Chicago. Within five years, there were down to 75 medical schools, and they all had the identical curriculum set up at John Hopkins. So there’s your history.

Yeah. And when you said the medical schools were closing because because of the Flexner report. Yeah. And if I understand there was money involved with that Flexner report that was essentially decided, like, nowadays our government will sponsor educational institutions. And, you know, there’s a big scream happening right now because, a certain school has, you know, has jeopardize their funds for not complying with our current government, which I happen to be okay with and in agreement with. I just got rid of half of my people now, but. Not really. they left a long time ago. So we’re okay here?

But the point being is, when you are giving money and for a certain agenda, and in this case, it’s, it’s, you know, you’ve been getting money, but we’re taking it away because you’re on a certain agenda that we don’t think you should have. It’s not you have to teach this. But back then, it was you have to teach this. And if you don’t, not only we not going to help you, but we’re going to humiliate you. We’re going to destroy you. They use propaganda. We’re going to discredit. And people won’t be able to go there because a degree from your school, we’re going to make it look like you went to, you know clown 101 and got a, you know, internet diploma.

essentially it’s interesting because the medical schools, they taught more intuitively. They were more natural before that time. And it was all apprentice based schooling. And they took people out of the clinical setting. They lost all of their intuitive diagnostics, which are what really tells you what’s going on with things, because the lab tests cannot tell you what’s going on. And it’s been a real tragedy because they’ve generated this whole sick culture. We have the highest, health care costs in the world, and we have the sickest population. It makes absolutely no sense unless you follow the money.

Most people don’t realize something that you just said. 40%, at least of the best peer reviewed articles, put it in the best journals in the world, have what’s called spin on them, and they completely misrepresent what the study actually proved in America, Mark Hyman has suggested, is closer to 75%, and the research proves 75% of us overt fraud. It’s all directed by money.

Yeah, and you can read research numbers in different ways, and you can read statistics and highlight a few cherry pick a few little things and not mention everything else that went wrong that doesn’t support it. And all of a sudden you have a winning study. You know, in Florida right now, they’re talking about fluoride in the water. And I think the state made it illegal. But, one of our cities, our, you know, mayor said, no, we want it because it’s proven, you know, in dentistry, it’s scientific. And even those studies are cherry picked to prove that. But it doesn’t mention anything about the toxicity of fluoride and how it might affect people’s health. And that’s an example of cherry picking science for your agenda, your fluoride agenda. Whereas if people want fluoride, let them have it, but don’t force it on me and put it in my water supply.

And they all ignore the studies done over in Germany, Hitler had that put it the water suppress the masses. It depresses cognitive function. It makes people more compliant for the agenda.

But it might make my teeth harder.

Yeah, and it might also put little calcium white spots all over them, too, and make things unbalanced. And not in perfect health as they should be.

Yeah. Crazy. But that’s a perfect example of how you’re cherry picking the science Dr. Sid Williams. I don’t know if you know who he is or was. I’m a chiropractor, okay. And I went to Life University in Marietta, Georgia, and he was the founder of that particular school and very eccentric and, you know, very strong in his philosophy. And one of the books he wrote was When is a potato a pill? And I’ll come back to that in a minute after asking you, what is the difference between a treatment and treating a person?

Really, really simple. With, if you go with the flow, what we were talking about with diagnosis, most people don’t realize this. The medical community is pretty well tied into a very narrow spectrum of what they can do. It all that’s done, all that’s published in the Merck Manual, it’s a compilation of symptoms and tests lead to this is probably what it is. And this is what you got to do. to treated. You go very far outside of that. You’re going to be in front of the ethics board with your license threatened.

You get in any other health care profession, chiropractic naturopathic, homeopathic. All they got gurus who come through with their seminars who say do this protocol for whatever this is. And everybody is pushing somebody else’s agenda. That’s what a treatment is. It’s a generic approach that has no bearing whatsoever on the specific issues going on inside of you. It’s simply looking at you as if you’re a collection of symptoms, and they’re going address the symptoms and not address you as a person. It’s incredibly impersonal. And it’s ridiculous how infective it is. Absolutely totally incorrect.

I kind of like the Merck Manual, though. And for anyone listening, the Merck Manual is kind of a required text for all doctors, medical doctors, osteopaths, chiropractors. And you can look up any condition and kind of get numbers on it and stuff. And it might not be perfect. And as an example, if you looked up measles and you started looking at statistics, you know, you have to realize those statistics are only on actually diagnosed cases of measles. Not all cases of measles, documented cases of measles.

You’ll have numbers. And then you might look into it and say, okay, well what is the survival rate of measles and what other, you know, what medical treatment options are there and stuff like that. And for me, when as I looked up conditions like that and matched them up with vaccines, for me it’s like what you mean in the documented cases and all the documented cases. You know, the survival rate for this condition or that condition is like over 99%. I just have to be in the 1% to get through that without any long standing problems. And for me, a lot of those decisions, were easy ones. All I have to do is maintain some health, be strong, and then I don’t need some kind of outside in approach to staying alive. So I enjoy having the Merck Manual.

Yeah.

For reasons that it was probably not intended for. But there’s a whole lot of helpful information in that.

Yeah. And it’s an amazing thing when you look at that whole issue. We could go off on that, you know, that whole subject of vaccinations. And it’s a great discussion. Most people don’t realize it’s a when you look at what’s gone on, started in, in Rockefeller University or University of Chicago, whenever you approach science with a biased all it is a manipulation of fact, and it’s a justification of an agenda to manipulate people into whatever desired thing you want. Almost all studies start with a bias that is not open for discussion like we’re having right now. And it all it does is It coerces people in a seductive type of way into believing something is true when it isn’t. Yeah, and that’s when you look at the facts of what’s going on, like what you’re using the Merck Manual for, it’s blazingly obvious what’s going on. You can’t deny it. It’s like, wow, how did anybody accept this?

But more twisted, you can look up polio and oh, you know that you want to be in an iron lung. Well, not you know, let me see what percentage of people end up in an iron lung. And I am not an anti-vaxxer. I am a, you know, get educated and make educated decisions about your health. I’m that kind of guy that would say, you know, if you’re going to a third world country and you’re, you know, doing missions and there’s this known disease process, and you can get a vaccine for it.

I’m just saying, you know, get educated, look it up in the Merck Manual and know what it’s about and know what might happen if you get that illness. And decide whether or not there’s some ways to naturally strengthen your body or whether or not, you know, it makes sense to have that immunization and decide from there. That’s the method I’ve been using. And it’s been working out for me. and so far I haven’t needed any vaccinations, but I’m going to still do the research and look at the numbers and know what’s happening. So it’s not an anti-vax position. It’s just an get educated and make some decisions. Don’t just go in blindly and, you know. Yep. Oh, there’s another vaccine.

You know, when you look at the vaccine issue and you understand physiology, it makes it make a lot of sense. The immune system doesn’t start to function till minimum six months is really not even working very well. There’s only one small Aspect. Immune system is working at a year. It doesn’t mature till the age of 17. You’re six years old before things are really starting to fire much at all into throw. What they’re doing today at immature immune systems can’t possibly respond. is insane.

I got asked by a medical doctor years ago when he’s doing circumcision on my son. He goes, so what’s your view on immunizations? He didn’t know. I got in Eastern Europe and Russia. as the Berlin Wall was falling down the first time. And I went in a couple of years later, we got on Trans-Siberian railway five day trip, one way into the middle of Siberia, and we’re up there for three weeks, were gone for a month and a half, and I worked with a nurse in Vienna, Austria, the day before we left, and she’s talking to me about vaccinations.

People don’t realize the difference of European and American. And when the medical doctor asked me, this is well, what I don’t understand is this. Yeah, the American Pediatric Association uses European statistics, which are primarily home birth children primarily nursed with a completely different vaccine that’s available over here in America. You got methylmercury, and all the bars are extremely toxic. That’s not how they make them in Europe. They don’t start those until the immune system is, actually functioning. They won’t do those before a year old. And usually after two. How you can extrapolate that into traumatized births in America, primarily fed off of toxic formula and do this before the immune system even works with things that are full of all kinds of toxins and say the results are the same.

I don’t know how you can do that. And the doctor, he changed the subject. It was a head doc who ran that local clinic, that local hospital. He realized I knew more than he did. And those are the things what you’re talking about. This is what people need to know and that the decision becomes very, very obvious. It’s not, you know, I don’t believe in that. Let’s look at the facts. How can this possibly work?

And right now, they’re changing everything to MNRA when you. When I was young, they’re probably 7 to 12. Vaccination. They’re like 75 now and they’re doing too many of them at the same time. And when we look at the toxic load, that’s what drives almost all of chronic health issues is toxic load. If you look at the toxic load of 7 to 75 I mean it’s insane. In an immune system it can’t possibly respond to with highly toxic stuff. And now they’ve got the nanotechnology in it.

I had to get a tooth, pulled it, it cracked, and I was rebuilding enamel, and I got the enamel rebuilt. But it’s two started dying, and I won’t do a, root canal, and it was good thing I said I won’t do that, because that tooth had three roots, not four. And he would have missed one of them, you know, he would have drilled four holes and tried to do something where the problem really wasn’t he and I had heard that, numbing agents for, dental work now have the same nanotechnology as the vax has. Some of somebody brought me some of those, some of those, and we tested them. And that was true.

And I talked to this dentist that I saw about that, and he gave me the same three vials that I had, I tested those the same one was a clean one. And that sandonet, anybody wants to know, they’re getting dental work sandonet that is a clean one. It’s shorter lived, but it doesn’t have the nanotechnology that the other ones do. So there’s one pearl for everybody. You should write that one down.

Anyway, the dentist wasn’t aware of that at all, and he was really I, I certainly wasn’t he was really interested in the research with all that. So when I came in to get my tooth pulled, I had it on my phone and I set my phone on his counter, said, you know, but before we start anything, put your email in that. And he puts it in. And so you forgot to hit send to send it. These are the articles you asked me about. Yeah. So there’s the research where they’re showing this stuff and he goes from Harvard or, you know, one of the Ivy League schools. It was not junk research at all. And these are things that people need to know.

What’s in it, how does it work? What’s its mechanisms. Is that something that’s relative to my need? Is my immune system, going to use it? is it really a significant factor? You talking about polio? It’s amazing. Back when polio went swept the country, the chiropractor did better than anybody else because they looked at function. They put boxes in people’s beds so their legs didn’t distort. You got all these things going on when you look at things from a functional, practical standpoint. And that’s what these lab tests have divorced us from, is many of these global overviews of what’s going on, what’s the real causation, and being able to address that, to get people healthy again.

I say some of us are guilty even not taking a medical approach, but using our treatments as treatments, you know, like, you have these symptoms. So here’s a therapy for you. That was the idea behind the book. When is a potato a pill? Well, you just have to eat one potato every day. You know, a potato could be very healthful part of your diet. But if I’m prescribing it like medicine, I’m actually taking a medical approach because I’m telling you what to do to treat a symptom instead of how to get well.

Right. And when you look at functional medicine, it’s all about causation. it was started by some clinical nutritional chiropractors who were doing some really innovative stuff up in the state of Minnesota. Their board looked at it and go, we don’t know what you guys are doing. So to justify what you’re doing, why don’t you find somebody who can sign off some continuing education so we don’t have to be on your back all the time, and we justify all of that. And they found Dr Jeff Bland, who’s a PhD in biology. He showed up. And Jeff Bland says the chiropractors taught me even more than I taught them. But I had the degree to sign everything off. And that’s how functional medicine started.

It became very attractive because of how successful they were. The medical doctors came and said, well, this is wonderful, let’s use our system. And they started using lab tests and they the results and the approach is exactly what you just said. It’s the same thing the medical system does, is addressing symptoms rather than causation. And it divorced itself from the tools that allowed them all these phenomenal results that, like the guy that started Life Chiropractic, you look at some of those guys, they had these phenomenal results for these these great ideas with some very innovative ways to do it.

You have some phenomenal doctors, but that’s not what’s going on. The schools now, the clinicians that are teaching clinical people are the people that can’t survive out in public practice. So they stay on in school and they teach other people inept practices. And, you know, it’s ridiculous what’s going on in everything. People think they’re going to go someplace and get some health. And the most the lion’s share of people can’t help them clinically.

And that there’s research article in it was in British Journal of Medicine, I think in 08 time magazine got Ahold of that and they published an article, Medical Guesswork. And that article said that only 20 to 25% of medical procedures have any clinical benefit whatsoever. I take that and I go, that doesn’t apply to just medicine. That’s all health care. And we all know it. And it’s ridiculous because the system of education is divorced itself from causation, which is what the originators of the schools, they were masters at causation and resolving things and all that’s been filtered out through this iniquitous system. And it’s atrocious.

Now, Doctor Brad, we use that word a lot. What is causation?

Causation is the root cause of something. So you take something like what you see a lot. You take a migraine. Medicine is going to throw something at the symptom of a migraine and try and get her to cause to reduce. If we look at what’s going on physiologically with the migraine, you have the blood vessels in the head, they dilate, then they constrict. The second dilation is when you get the auras that let you know you’re going to have a just a mind blowing headache. And the second constriction is where all that. No, it’s just I’m at first it constricts, then it dilates. The second constriction is where you get the auras. And there’s a second dilation that where the headache happens and you look at chiropractors, they’ll adjust the neck do some things.

They’ll tell people, put an ice pack on the back of your head when you’re starting to get that or, and keep those blood vessels constricted so you don’t get that. I had one lady I years ago who’s having migraines. She does something brilliant, innovative, which is kind of neat. she’d go get a spoonful of, really hot, horseradish. And it gets that same vascular response like wasabi does. You know, if you have sushi, you know, it hits the back of your head and it just dilate. You know, it’s amazing what it does to your blood vessels and all that made those things go away. But when we look at it, what causes all of that? Food intolerance is one of the biggest causes of all of those things. You find out what those food items are, you remove them, and then you just go away.

Okay, but what caused the food intolerance?

2 different things. And when we get into it, the 70 I think according to JFK, I think 73% of crops in America are grown under subsidization of governmental issues. Whenever they do that, it’s all GMO and people think GMO is a problem. That’s not what the problem is. It’s, herbicides and pesticide. They need to spray on these things to keep them growing. They have with that those foods are cheaper in the grocery store than real food is real healthy food. And that’s how they get everybody to eat these non nutritious, calorie dense foods, but no nutrition in them.

Yeah, you take anything that causes inflammation in the gut. You start to get an atrophy of the microvilli. And if you hold your fingers up in front of your face, your fingers are like the microvilli and your little projections off the lining of your gut that increases the surface area. They got about 400 times you do anything that causes inflammation, toxic foods NSAIDs like Motrin, aspirin, Aleve, chronic stress, steroids, antibiotics, anti fungals. All these different things will make those microvilli atrophy. So it’s like you close your hand, make a fist and roll it. So you’re just looking at your knuckles. When you do that you’ve lost that 400 time increase in surface area. You’ve lost a place for all the microbes to grow inside of there. You lost the ability to make the mucus for the microbes to hold in microbes, the healthy ones they wash down into the toilet and pathogens grow.

With all of that, there’s tight junctions between the cells that something like Velcro and those start to open up. Toxins start to get underneath as they get underneath some of the worst toxins. We have come out of the gut and everybody’s looking somewhere else and not addressing the gut. That’s the primary place where they come from. Those toxins get inside the gut, starts the immune system that creates autoimmune issues that blow just dissolve the lining of the gut, transfer. Your leaky gut happens since the gut starts to leak within two hours, a brain leaks. That overwhelms the liver with toxins. Those go systemic, those deposit everywhere. And there you’ve got everything that causes everything in the body. And.

Well, yeah. And it’s. This is why I wanted to bring that up. Because, you know, as we talk about causation, I like to emphasize the fact that, you know, getting well, you can look at it and say there’s really two sides to it. There’s doing the right things, but getting rid of the wrong things, getting rid of the things that are causing the problem. And that’s causation. A lot of people can’t identify it and can’t figure it out. Well, what’s causing the problem? What’s causing my pain? Well, it might be, you know, your new chair or your new car, the seat. You know, the posture that you’re in or the shoes that you’re wearing or, you know, you got to get rid of the cause.

But ultimately, with all of these conditions that you help people with Lyme, mold, Candida, leaky gut, IBS, food intolerance, autoimmunity, thyroid cancer, dementia, autism, ADHD, you know, as you’re changing the foods you eat and getting back to the real foods, as you’re describing. Getting away from the Frankenstein foods, the ultra processed filled with chemical foods you might be by doing the right things, you might be eliminating the cause. And the quickest way to get well is to eliminate the cause.

you know that. That’s one of the things whenever you look at toxins, detox is a huge thing. It’s really a huge thing. And I, I just did a podcast on that the released yesterday on detox. I think Josh Axe actually put something on his podcast the week before about detox. And it’s really off his completely off. People don’t understand what’s going on with toxicity and people realize the liver this is kind of funny. I was I was on a

well, I’m laughing because I think you just said that Doctor Josh was off.

Oh, yeah. Or Axe yeah way off, and his products are toxic and a bunch of other things we’ve tested a lot of his products, and none of them work anyway, he’s his great marketer, and I know his. One of his partners. Anyway, he’s talking about all the detox being in the liver, and people don’t realize, that’s only one of four detox organs we’ve got four detox organs in the body is a small intestinal wall, the colon wall, the gut flora. Three quarters of our detox happens in the gut. half of our immune system is inside of the gut Because that’s the primary access into the body of anything that’s going to be threatening to health. And it’s just huge.

And it’s only what the gut can’t process the goes to the liver. The liver supposed to process that, catch it and dump it back into the gut to finish the cycle. And our detox cycle is supposed to go from the gut to liver back to the gut, and it’ll stay in that loop till finally process where you can excrete it. But when you overwhelm the system, the liver gets overwhelmed and it goes systemic. And as soon as you go systemic, then you start having all of the problems that people are complaining about.

it’s leaky gut, leaky gut with a toxic issue that causes all your thyroid problems. That’s what causes all of your hormone dysregulation. You take your ADHD and all your autism people. You fix a gut, know those things go away. I just had a, black family show up a little while ago for an evaluation. I evaluated the mom and the daughter, and the dad’s a great big guy, and she’s the daughter, six years old, and she’s got this ADHD tag on her, this placard, you know, this diagnosis of ADHD.

I watched her for four hours sitting content with a couple of books. One was a coloring book, one school book. She’s tracing letters in her school book. She’s coloring content. She ate sugar the whole way here. You know, they drove for a long period of time to get here. And I’m watching this content child who’s not distracted, not running around, not acting up. She needs no correction whatsoever with a label ADHD. And it’s just because the food the school feeds her, which is just toxic sugar, right?

Yeah. I’m convinced the label was created to sell a drug, and the drug was created for profit. And the people will give the drugs to their kids not to help their kids, but to help them so they don’t have to deal with the symptoms. When the reality is, if they got to the cause and got rid of the cause people would do better. I’m not saying everyone’s going to be perfect, but when you take away the chemical soup and clean up their life and their chemistry, their internal nutrition, their internal chemistry gets more like it’s supposed to be, and their gut flora gets more like it’s supposed to be in the body starts communicating like it’s supposed to be. People get better. They do better.

Yeah. The interesting thing with the gut, the gut is one of the hardest organs in the body to heal. And just changing the diet won’t do it. And people think that they can do all kinds of things to heal that. Okay, you really got to be specific. It takes it takes clinical geniuses to be able to really restore the health of the gut and restore healthy gut flora. Once you do. Yeah, yeah. and diets are half of the problem. It’s literally half of that equation. You cannot ignore that. But you look at the lab test for the food intolerance 2 or 3% accurate. That’s it. And that’s basically because there are so many different reactions that happen distant from the gut that they have no idea what they are, no way to measure them. They don’t know what they are.

I like Doctor Natasha Campbell McBride’s method of, identifying food intolerances, so to speak. And it really has to do with keeping a diet log, and recording not only what you eat and when you eat it, but how you feel and how you feel can be how you sleep. It could be about your digestion. It could be your clarity of your thinking or your energy levels or fatigue or whatever you’re having. And you start figuring out what does what in your life. And wow, when I have these foods, I do really good. And when I have those, I don’t well, you probably get those out of your life for a while.

Yeah. Doctor Bland, he promotes a lot of, elimination diet doing that type of thing. But the last time I saw him, his face looked like a strawberry from food intolerances. It’s all red and balked and. And all kinds of other stuff. The one problem with that is that the food intolerance responses can be delayed like three weeks and way away from the gut, and it’s not linear enough for people to really connect those to the lab tests. 20 years ago, the best lab tests were like 2100 bucks for full panel that for 2 to 3% accuracy, you go. And that’s nuts

so the most she would combine that she would combine that with like at home skin testing as well.

Skin testing is the most expensive, most inaccurate form of testing for food intolerance the most accurate muscle testing by far. Oh, and it’s the most, most practical. You can test people for what’s in their refrigerator. What’s in the local farmer’s market. We’ve had people go through stores, take three shopping carts, fill one up with whatever they’re looking for, and you can’t test through metal, you know, but you can through plastic, you can through glass. And, you know, just search through whatever they’re considering to find out what things are. And it’s amazing when that’s done with integrity. And that’s a really huge when because that’s what measures whether it’s going to be accurate or not. Any type of a science is used with a bias that we said earlier is just a manipulation.

Yeah, yeah. The problem is, is people don’t always know that they’re biased, but yeah.

Yeah, it’s interesting. You know, people think, wow, you know, you’re biased about Lyme disease. Now I’m not biased about it. our tests are insane. Mark Hyman he said that their extensive testing just recently their extensive testing comprised is comprised of 100 different tests. We’re four and a half times that.

Yeah that’s awesome.

And the reason why with that.

Hang on a second with that right now if someone wants to dig in a little deeper on that, how do they get in touch with you?

The best way to get in touch me. With me. I’ve got a book on how to change your epigenetics to change your destiny. It’s called Healing Lifestyles. It’s a downloadable e-book. If you go to hello.healthfullyu.com h e l l o . h e a l t h f u l l y u .com. It’ll take you right to that book, and that has access to my podcast, to my websites, to my videos, Exposing Lyme and chronic illnesses. gives you access to everything. And it’s a extremely valuable tool that everybody can have is easily digestible. I write in simple language. You can tell I, I dialog with people, and both of us like to do that, which is really fun to do these things without having an agenda.

And they just let’s let the organic conversation direct the course of what’s going on. And you can only do that if you’re comfortable enough, with enough knowledge where you’re not going to feel like you’re exposed and naked with something. So that’s the best way to go.

Hey, it’s funny you say that because, you know, one of the things about this and I almost said it at the beginning, this is my most unprepared podcast ever. And I did that intentionally, knowing you can pretty much talk about anything. And I wanted to ask you the things that would, I would think would come up in someone’s mind that’s hearing us talk about these things. And I’m not done with you. I asked you for a resource for a good reason. But the thing that’s been in my mind that I would think someone might be wanting to know, well, what should I eat? Should I eat meat? Should I eat vegetables? What should I eat?

You gotta eat clean food. And I go over what that is in that book fairly simply. But you got this huge awareness of GMO stuff, GMO is a wagging dog to keep people off of the real issue. And that is the when we look at what drives a whole sick industry. You got insider trading from Congress in the House. They are the ones who get to vote on whether pharmaceutical funds are going to go into a new place or a new one being voted. They can go down to the local trading center and put huge investments and then vote on that a few months down the road and make these crazy profits.

It’s illegal for everybody other than our Congress to do that. And now anybody else will go to jail. That’s how these people make a ton of money. So that’s one aspect of it. The insurance props up all of these ridiculous procedures that cost way too much and get nothing done. But that’s what fuels the funding of the pharmaceutical industry.

I just delivered we live in the worst hit place, worst hit county from Hurricane Helene up in the western, North Carolina up here, the, 50ft walls of water going 70 miles an hour down these canyons, floating houses going down. People swept into the river and not picked up for 40 miles. They’re absolutely, totally insane. What’s gone on with all of that? And

With all these things coming together, you got the insurance company, they prop up the pharmaceutical. The pharmaceutical subsidizes the medical schools, so they push their agenda. The other schools, they want to be doctor wannabes, so they follow suit with that. The big ag culture is tied in with the pharmaceutical. Detoxify the food to make people too sick so that they can keep coming back. And they never give solutions to keep everybody in this loop. So they’re going to harvest the most amount of money out of you by keeping you sick, not getting you well.

Yeah. Personally, I don’t think it’s so intentional, but I think the incentive system makes it happen. You know, for instance, the FDA and CDC, you know, the intention, the concept is good. Well, we need, you know, science. And we have to prevent people from selling snake oil.

If you take the CDC, lions, part of the upper people in the upper echelons of the CDC, they all get royalties for every lab test done for Lyme disease, every treatment done for Lyme disease. They are the ones who close that book on Merck manual on what people can do with all that. And the people in the upper echelons of the CDC and the FDA go back and forth to the top execs in the pharmaceutical industry, big ag industry and all that. And it’s just this constant revolving door that goes on. It’s just corrupt.

But I think they’ve been in it so long, they think they’re doing good. I think that might be the way I don’t think they’re intentionally saying, hey, we’re going to keep the people and make sure they stay sick. I think it’s the system that, you know, they don’t realize how they’re being influenced by money and convinced that they’re, you know, actually doing good. I could be wrong, but

that’s how propaganda and agendas work, you know? And there’s a few people that drive it and everybody else becomes a puppet.

Yeah, yeah. Sad reality. Well, give me, your take on fasting.

Okay. I’ve got a long history of fasting. One year, I probably fasted a third of the year. There’s a bunch of different approaches for fasting. There’s religious approaches, there’s health approaches, there’s all kinds of things. And you have to fast wisely when you do it. Most people don’t realize when you fast for a while, you need to make those calories up. Somewhere along the line.

when you do a fast of less than 1200 calories, it switches your metabolism about two and a half to three days in ketosis there, and you’re primarily burning fat, but your brain and other organs only work at 75% under ketosis. So you have this cognitive dysfunction that’s going on with that. Oftentimes with fasting, you don’t keep your water levels up because you don’t have the salts to drive all that with all of your food. 1% dehydration gives you all the symptoms of dementia in your brain for about 73, 75% water. So you know you knock 75 down to 74%. You’re getting the symptoms of dementia, and you’re because your brain’s, dehydrated. And you add to that the fasting state and all that. And you can you can have like a 50% drop in cognitive function.

Yeah, I got lead one year. Some of that was my own. I was, I did a 40 day fast. And I got kind of delusional. I forgot where, where I was. So I continue that for another week. There’s often a retreat center and, you know, kind of funny. Some of the things went on with all that. But when I was coming down off of that and you got to be careful about doing that, I ended up doing at least 2 forty day fasts one year. And, and I generally fasted day a week. So that year I fasted like 120 days.

Wow.

You know, sounds kind of insane. So I’m talking from experience, you know, not this idealistic thing. Oh, yeah. I hear what you’re talking about. I know,

and but why did you do it?

For me, it’s a different issue. I’ve been a licensed minister for a long time. I’ve been all over the world doing ministry. And you look at ministry, we got all these different approaches. Mine is about the kingdom of God and Bringing the kingdom of God into places where nobody’s ever seen it. Got 30 years of prison ministry. I’ve been in Eastern Europe and Russia. The Berlin Wall is coming down in. I’ve been in hard places, just hard places as far as I goes. And I’ve never met one individual who claims to be a believer that has any authority in the kingdom at all, that doesn’t have a lifestyle of prayer and fasting. Sounds simple. Never met one. There’s a lot of people talk about things, but no authority.

Well, I got a phone call. A while back, I was part of an apostolic group, and one of the other guys in the apostolic group called me up, and said they got a phone call from somebody who needed some deliverance. They had a bunch of things had gone on, in their life had just fallen apart. He had called a friend of his, and Lord had me run a ministry school at that time, too. And friend he called was his more senior than this guy was. And he said, so who do I get Ahold of to to do some deliverance for this person? And Jim tells Brian, he goes, there’s nobody, nobody around in this half of the state. Like, Brad you got to get a hold up and we’re good friends.

He calls me and we go over there and it’s funny, I get, I show up their house, I get met by this really aggressive dog, and I’m playing with a dog. And I come outside and, you know, I slowly get the dog to calm down. And I’m playing with a dog and talking to this guy, and we slowly do stuff and get him set free from some dramatic stuff. And I ran into him and his wife a couple weeks later at a funeral. And I don’t go to funerals, but I got led to go to that one, and it was really interesting talking to him.

I asked the wife, so how has life been since then? And she gives me this, this thing, it’s completely changed their life, completely changed. The husband comes up a little while and he goes, I’ve been to all of the big name people who do all of the things, all the name and claim and all these loud stuff. And here you come in your quiet. You’re soft, you’re getting to know. So, if we start talking about life, you just slowly roll into stuff and it’s gone. You go. How do you do that? That’s why I fast.

Amen the spirit wars against the flesh. In the flesh, against the spirit. When you fast, does it help you in that area there?

There’s a few ways to cut the flesh off baptism. Water baptism is really the hugest, fastest way to do that. When I got into Eastern Europe, we passed a river where, six weeks before the Berlin Wall came down, a group of people got mowed down with a machine gun middle of the river for doing a baptism middle of the night. And I look at that and go, okay, over here in America, people are arguing over a Greek term baptism. And the Bible was written in Greek, is written Hebrew, translated into Greek. But that’s a different subject.

Anyway, over here they’re arguing about baptism, other people around the world and from antiquity. For 2000 years, people have been dying to exercise that. Right. And I go, okay. Something’s wrong over here. And there must be something behind this that we’re missing. And it took a long time of fasting prayer to get what that is so when we look at cutting off the flesh, that’s one way. And every baptism you look at biblically, it’s in the context of constantly redoing it and renewing it. It’s not a one time thing.

Yeah. You know, I’m you’re waking something up in my mind as I think about that. Because if I recall, when Jesus was baptized, the spirit came down like a dove and remained on him. And, which, you know, essentially a demonstration of this is, you know, a spiritual time. This is from flesh to spirit. I don’t think Jesus lacked the spirit. I think that it was shown to us get baptized. And then when you fast, you’re intentionally practicing saying no to the flesh.

Yeah.

Which the more you do it, the easier it gets.

That’s exactly it. And that’s why I do it for other people, do it for other things, beat in to try and increase your brain function and all kinds of other things like that. But the principles are pretty much the same. The lower the amount of calories and more specific nutrients you need to eat. And you should always keep the protein and the oils up your oils. 60% water after water, 60% oils and oils determine the integrity of the brain. So you’ve got to keep those two up. The people don’t realize when you’re in a fasting state or in a high stress state, the adrenal hormones, they start to melt your muscles. And if you don’t replenish that protein, you’re just going to dissolve your muscles. You’re going to be a toothpick like someone who’s been in a P.O.W. camp. So it’s it’s really, really, really critical to keep those ones up.

And when you come off of that, I was in a, retreat where two young gals. I got called out, there’s a worship time. They’re out there dancing exuberantly, they’re both obese and whatever. And they ended up on the floor with gut wrenching pain because of this issue that goes on with adrenal hormones, taking all of the protein out of things. And it just with a no blood sugar with the ketosis, all kinds of other things say we’re just in this gut wrenching pain.

And I got called out as only doc there was there, walked them through some stuff to some gut massage, came up and do some things the next day. They want to go break their fast eating pizza and I gave them all the reasons to not do it. I go, man, you can crash yourself so bad. That’s not how you come off of it. And you know, you come off with masses of vegetables, with proteins, nutrients. You want nutrient density, not calorie density. And you get yourself building back up whit that not these toxic calorie bombs like pizza.

Yeah, yeah. You know, I could talk to you forever. And I have an idea on how we might create some content together in the future if you’d be open.

I’m open to anything.

Yeah. You know, for those that are that have made it an hour into this podcast, what would you think of having an opportunity to be able to ask Doctor Brad some questions on a live recording? Let me know in the comments below this video. I have a lot of things I want to ask you about, and we can start the conversation and get things going and let people chime in and ask the questions, that they want. Would you be open to that?

I am one of the few people that loves Q&A. As you can tell, this is not been scripted There’s been absolutely nothing planned in this at all. It’s totally organic. I love that kind of stuff. I 30 years of prison ministry. The Lord would not allow me to go in with a plan message. You meet people where they’re at. You can only do that by organic conversations. I’ve just got a deep enough well, where I don’t feel, First of all, I know, Lord, enough where It doesn’t matter to me how vulnerable I am because he. The more vulnerable I am, the more he can use me.

And I’ve got a deep enough well of information and research and all these things I can tie stuff together so I can give reasonable answers that are really honest and really valuable to people. We’re doing that. So I love Q&A.

I’m, you know, I’m going to maybe inflate your ego a little bit, but I think you’ll be okay. And immune to, getting too big of a head here. You know, the scripture says the wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear it sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. And so it is with everyone that is born of the spirit. So you have this knowledge but you also have this, this confidence because you are, you know, not being driven by the flesh. You’re being open to God. What would you have for me and how can I help people? You know, with all your experience and stuff, I think it would just be the perfect format and trusting.

Okay. God, who has a question and how can I help them? So I hope we can make that happen. And possibly we can get some encouragement in the comments below this video or, whatever platform you’re absorbing the content. Thank you. Brad, thank you so much. Give me, closing thoughts. some, pearls for the audience.

As I said, all those pearls are in one link. hello.healthfullyu.com That’s gonna open you up to all kinds of stuff. I got a ton of videos out there and just a lot of content, so that’s really big. And one thing that could be done with, with this Q&A is people could email you social media, do something like that. So is there. So if they can’t be there when we’re recording, we can just read them off. And that would probably make that more functional.

I like it. There’s a contact form on haleynutrition.com. If you use that I will get a copy of it and you can start submitting questions now. Ready set. Go ask awesome Dr. Brad thank you so much.

This is great. Yeah. Thanks for inviting me. this is my life. And it looks like it is yours too. And it’s refreshing to be able to have organic conversations without really having attended and just let it go where it’s going to go.

I like it. Yeah. So thanks again. Appreciate it.
